Policy on Research Elective for the students at QMCK

Aim

To promote and enhance the culture of ethical and evidence-based research among the students at QMCK.

Objective

Teach, enhance, and improve the research skills among the students of QMCK. This policy will work through following criteria:

Promoting Research

  • Promoting & enhancing the research culture from the very start of the medical education

Training programs

  • Offer structured training program to improve the research skills among the students

Ethical standards

  • Ensure that ethical guidelines of research are fully met

Hands-on-Practice

  • Conduct practical sessions in computer labs to teach essential research tools & techniques

Recognition

  • Reward outstanding research with certificates, awards, & provide opportunity to present in local institutions

Faculty mentoring

  • Senior faculty mentoring (allotted supervisors) for the research projects.; from the CM dept + senior faculty from the IRC members. Other willing senior faculty members will be welcome to be the part of this research mentoring program

Duration of the program

  • Duration will be 2 weeks during summer holidays
  • Interactive teaching hours (as per suggested Structure of Concept Paper)
  • Ongoing mentoring for the motivated students (mentoring till publication as outcome )

Teaching faculty involved

  • Faculty from the IRC sub-committees & other motivated senior faculty ( its repetition)
